Well aparently The folks over at engadget contacted the family and are sending him all sorts of stuff from people who watched the video and wanted to help.

yeah, It was confirmed his parents DIDN'T buy him xbox, and only changed the youtube description because of the negative feedbacks.

kingofwale, I just kicked her in the tummy once or twice. Not as cruel as what that other kid's family did, but cruel enough to warrant some Microsoft points, or a free game, or SOMETHING.
