Yeah I totally agree. VGC should make it so that in order to be a member, you have to pay some nominal monthly fee (like a dollar or something), and then that money goes towards paying to see the NPD data each month. If everyone gave a little money we could easily reach that $5,000 mark or whatever it ends up being.

It isn't that simple, I imagine part of the NPD subscription agreement is that you do not have permission to share or republish the numbers. Even within places like Sony, Microsoft etc they don't get to share the NPD numbers to the whole company, they are just available to the section and people that have paid access.
