that's how I think, BUT what i've found out is that they make the in-game purchases much harder to get.
Let's say normally it woudl only cost 1,000 to open a chest last gen with zero microtransactions.
This gen with microtransactions, that same chest would not costs 10,000 to open. Thus it's still technically FREE to acquire but more annoying so people will be inticed to spend real money.
It's annoying as hell. I'm against making games more annoying on purpose to make people spend real money

Agreed, anything that makes the game annoying is a no-go. Why can't these big publishers be tactful about this stuff? There's a right way to do everything so that both parties benefit, but they don't always seem to get that.

Problem is, they saw how much EA profited and decided to copy them... Uplay is, after all a copy of a copy of Steam.
