Hint for #41:

The first part of a series of games that many users see as one game. This game is infamous for a stage obstacle that many could never pass, including me (for years and years).

Sonic 3? It's the one with the "barrel of doom" isn't it?

OK, let's post in the right thread this time. >_>

Hint #43:

In this game you collect and train souls for an upcoming conflict. Even women are drafted, something that clash with the mythology this game is loosely based on.

Hint #42:

The first game in a "series" that used to be famous for confusing stories and all sorts of trouble.

Hint #41:

Yes. It comes off.

Oh!! Oh!! Did this game feature like eight different deities, from which you would later have to join one; and there was some kind of rival with a top hat that could train souls too?

Game #41

The first game where you meet and talk to a relative of this game's lead character. It became a rarity in the rest of the series.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past? You talk to your uncle (although very briefly).

Still too easy huh .

I thought I'd do something for this game that wouldn't make it blatently obvious. Still not vague enough I see. You are correct, of course .

Ugh...I don't remember. Your description sounds like a game I played when I was a kid.

39 users have been put into the spreadsheet
729 unique games have been voted on so far. :D

Which means that so far, each user has ~19 unique games on his/her list.

I do have a few Zelda games on my list so it helped a lot.

Signature goes here!

The correct answer is Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. (It helps that I've played it for the first time this year and that I remember that Khuutra's wife cosplayed Shanoa)

*salutes*

Igarashi has left Konami
Lords of Shadow 2 has the series as a shell of its former self.

*shakes head*

Lords of Shadow 2 was such a P.O.S.!  I actually liked the first one and the portable one.  They are no SoTN, Bloodlines, or Dracula's Curse (Or SCIV or original CV and prob some others for that matter) but they were decent.  I liked them both enough to play through twice each.  LoS2 was a chore to get through once.  It tried to be so many things at once that it failed at all of them.  I have beaten original CV, Bloodlines, and SoTN at least 10 times each.
