Tetris?

Not either. At least I can say it's newer than Tetris, but older than your last guess .

Kresnik maybe knows my game, I once talked to him about it, but he hasn't been active in this thread this year.

It's that obscure early PS puzzlish platformer. I remember this from last year, can picture it in my head, have no idea of the name.

Edit (without googling, i swear) is it Qubos?

Ooohh now it's getting interesting .

You're on the right track, but it isn't called Qubos.

Jumping Flash!

(had to look it up)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Lol .

Maybe you weren't on the right track afterall, because it's not that game either! Puzzle game, obscure, PS1, those were correct though O.O

Kula World.

Kula World.

YES! There it is .

Well done, it's Kula World (called Roll Away in the US), a.k.a. the greatest puzzle game and greatest PS1 game ever created, where you're a ball rolling around all the sides of blocks to get keys to unlock each level's exit.

I had secretly been leaving breadcrums in other threads for a while now for the most obscure games in my list. In that one thread about obscure games two or three weeks ago I mentioned Step-On-It, Dynamite Cop, Asterix and yes, Kula World.

And don't worry guys, this was finally the last of games like this in my list .

The game is from 1999. 2000 was the year it reached USA. (and EU in 2001).

The soundtrack is amazing! The game is so big it end up re-using some songs, but there are some great tracks there, and are always fitting the moment very well. And yep, the main theme is just perfect.

Hurts to see it only in #14 but oh well, it being there is way better then not being there at all xD

Well, I consider the first western release. No point considering the japanese release, when that makes no difference for me =P

Would you say FFXIII is a 2009 game or a 2010 game? Rogue Galaxy is 2005 or 2007? Ni no Kuni is 2011 or 2013? I could go on and on.

And #14 is pretty damn high. Chances are it's higher next year though, when you get this high on the list, it depends on my mood on that particular day. And as for the soundtrack, well maybe I didn't pay attention. When I replay it, I'll listen more closely.

Well, I always consider the original release. It's only a localization, it was available before to everyone to play it, I could have played it in USA in 1999 with a japanese copy. It's just that I see a lot of people saying the game is from 2000 and it's actually is not. (even being only a month prior to it ).
PlayStation itself is a 1994 console, won't be right to call it 1995 just bacause it's when it reached USA. If that was the case we would only be having PSX next year. But oh well, that doesn't matter that much anyway

I'm quite happy to see it on any other lists than mine to be honest XD, but I'll always want to see it at #1

About the soundtrack, using a headphone would be cool to get more of it.
I'm always reading FF's used to have superb soundtracks, top award winning stuff, so maybe your standarts are a little too high, I don't know, but I definitely love LoD soundtrack though.

"Used to"? Nah, every single numbered FF game has a top-notch soundtrack. Including the oh-so-hated XIII, yes (one of my favorites actually). XV is already indicating it'll keep the high standard.

And nah, I don't think me having too high of a standard is the issue. Maybe I just didn't pay attention, that's all.

#13 - Of course, part 1 is even higher up on the list, but this game is an excellent sequel, giving my wife and me more great co-op action along with a lot of improvements and new maps. We didn't spend as much time on this game as we did on the first one, though. I think that we did at least 300 runs through the maps of the first game, maybe half of that here.

This game is the main (and perhaps the only) reason why I'm glad I had X360 last generation.

Ugh stupid computer being in the shop for longer then expected, doing this on the Wii U is a pain... uggggh.

Anyway for my return!
#13 hint: Originally released in two seperate releases, the second release could link to the first, providing a more coherent story and slight level layout changes in both. By far and away the longest 2D title in the series and widely regarded as one of the best, with 3 playable characters and 14 ZONES.

#12 hint: The 2nd generation of a highly regarded very popular franchise, was a direct sequel to the first and was the only one to allow the exploration of multiple regions. Painfully obvious.
