Hint for #26:

This is the game I referenced in one of my earlier posts in this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6825683

This enhanced version features new modes and color graphics.

Another hint:

This enhanced version allowed players to battle against the CPU for the first time.

I'm a few days behind so clump post ahoy!

-  KH2 is by far my favorite entry of the Kingdom Hearts series. While never bad, KH is not a series i could compliment as being consistent in quality, with the portable entries in particular always feeling like less than they should be. It was KH2 however, the sequel to a game i already quite liked, that turned me into a fan. It showed me how good the series could be, and made me exited for whatever they'd come up with for its inevitable numbered sequel on the PS2 PS3 PS4 PS5.

- MGS4 is one of a very short list of games i consider flawless. It never blew me away, but it also never disappointed. The story, visuals, gameplay, characters etc were all great, and it surpassed its predecessor in almost every respect, yet i never thought to myself "this game is incredible".

At first i was slightly disappointed when i realized this, but then it occurred to me how damn impressive it was. Here was a game that had managed to keep my interest for almost 20 hours, without once leaving me feeling unsatisfied, annoyed, or bored. It may never have excelled at any one, but it was great at everything. In that respect, it really did blow me away.

- I never had the chance to play God of War properly on the PS2. I knew i'd enjoy it thanks to a couple of hours of repeatedly running through the demo on a disk that came with the PS magazine, but alas my mother forbid a young Zekk from being allowed to get the game (for obvious reasons), even when he said he'd pay for it himself with his vast wealth of pocket money (about £50 :p).

Fast forward a few years and the God of War Collection was announced for the PS3. Still not 18? No problem, i can Amazon that shit now.

To put it simply, i loved it. Not just because the combat was exiting and addictive, not just because the story was so over the top that i couldn't wait to see what happened next, but because i was stunned that they'd pulled off a game of this scale on the PS2 (even if i was playing it on the PS3, horaah for HD). If you asked me what my favorite GOW game was, i'd say 3. However, GOW1 gets a higher spot on this list for being the first game to show me how 'epic' they could be, even on dated hardware.

- I don't have much to say about Pokemon Diamond/Peal. It's Pokemon. You run around, you catch pokemon, and you crush the souls of every trainer and wild weedle that dares to look at you. You also rage a lot at that one asshole legendary that always seems to take hundreds of Ultra Balls and several reloads to catch.

Really though, Diamond (the version i owned) will always have a soft spot in my heart. It was the game i got my DS with, and the first Pokemon title i was able to play with my friends at school (until they banned it...).

- #25 Hint: Disco grenade is OP.

Hint #26:

A developer named after their own flagship franchise took a generation break to make this game instead.

Second Hint #26:

It was 2.5D.

#29: If you wait until there's five seconds in the clock, you could save one party member that otherwise would perish.

#28: This one isn't Uncharted 3

#27: My daddy is a dog!

#26: A small trivia at the very beginning of this game asked you which entry was your favourite from the franchise. Depending on your answer, you'd either have extra items at the start of your adventure or a different opening sequence.

#25: IN THE NEAR FUTURE [...] GOTTA WIN IN THREE DAYS MAX.

#28: Gears of War 3?

#26: Metal Gear Solid 3!

You're absolutely right on #26. :)

#28 is far, far simpler than naming different franchises :P

Tetris DX (GBC, 1998)

not guessed

I've long considered the 1989 Game Boy version of Alexey Pajitnov's seminal tile-matching game to be the best puzzler ever made. That was before I played the deluxe version, Tetris DX. Boasting beautiful color graphics, three player profiles, and three new modes, Tetris DX is the complete package. Players can choose to play classic marathon mode, or experiment with "Ultra Mode" or "40 Lines." One of the best parts of the game, apart from the backup battery save, which allows high scores to be saved, is a new CPU mode that challenges players to take on the computer. The game's music, as always, is a treat; the post-game animations are wonderful to watch; and the replay value is off the charts. It doesn't get much better than this.

#25 - An excellent game, so great I decided to buy it again on PS4. Still not my favorite GTA, but I love the franchise very much...and a vast improvement over GTA 4, that game was just too boring for me...

   Mega Man 2

   System: Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
   Genre: Action
   Year: 1991
   Rank last year: 28 (^ 2)

Mega Man 2 is a famous action game that provides you with just the right challenge. The game is neither easy nor very hard, at least not compared to a lot of other games on the NES. The clever password system makes the game easy to pick up and play, without having to sit through the entire game in one sitting.

Pretty much everything was done right in this game, because of the top-notch, fast and responsive control scheme, the platforming is fluent, and the action is more than satisfying. It is one of the few games on NES I actually completed. The game itself looks good, but the box-art is infamously weird, at least our European version actually more or less resembles what Mega Man is supposed to be.

I am about 9 hours late with my #26, so I'll post #25 in only a couple hours.

Game #25

Big heads and lots of hair must first go to the GP's Office.

Can't believe we're halfway done!

Hint for #25:

This sixth gen game came straight from the mind of a man who took the stage at The Game Awards and at the Playstation Experience keynote.
