Hints Galore!

I’ve been out a couple of days for thanksgiving, so it’s time to resume posting!

#34 arguably the first movie-video game tie in (and one of the best), created by the same guy who made the worst movie-video game tie in.

This hint has me puzzled since the worst movie-video game tie in is obviously E.T. and I can't think of any good game made before it by the same developper.

Could be a Star Wars game or something. Wasnt The Empire Strikes Back on the 2600 a good one...?

I really want to play all the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games, and I thought I could finally do that on Steam. Then I discovered that some of the audio files, most notably Jedi Knight, were missing in the Steam release :(

Have you tried GOG.com?

It's on the community wishlist, but no official release yet. I guess I could play without the audio files, but I want to hear that glorious Star Wars music :)

Dark Forces and the first Jedi Knight could pose a problem, but I think you could still be able to find Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy somewhere.

Won't be an easy hunt though, you'll have to look at stores that still sell older PC games and other random stuff and don't refresh their stock. Like a department store or supermarket or something and hope you're lucky. You sometimes still see games that old in those kind of stores. Weren't they released in that compilation (with Knights of the Old Republic and some other game) one or two years ago? Outcast and Academy are also on GameCube and XBox, so maybe they're still available second-hand on those...

Didn't know the Steam releases had issues, that's too bad. If you have a Mac those two are also on the App Store for next to nothing, but I don't know if those would have the same sound issues. I'm afraid Dark Forces and the first Jedi Knight are only left to eBay.

Another Lucasfilm property? Raiders of the Lost Ark?

#32 Hint
In this game you win a contest you didn't enter and the first boss is a baby. This game's length is a major point of criticism.

Right! I know a lot of people criticized this game for its complexity, but once you understand its nuances, its very entertaining.

I think I'll try to track down the Xbox ports of Jedi Knight II and Academy. Dark Forces seems to work OK, from what I've read on Steam forums. The problem children are Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith, which perform poorly on modern computers and have no Redbook audio.

I think this is Luigi's Mansion.
