Castlevania III for me, I have another NES game but most of my games on the list are 4th gen +.

Yep!  you got it.  I loved this spiderman game, especially the stan lee narration.  I've played both the N64 version and the PS1 version.  both are good, but the cinamatics on the are better ps1 version, and the controls are better on the N64 controller.

I prefer the sequel, which most people think is poor or average. The villains are better in the first game though, and the final boss is some pretty intense shit.

39. Fire Emblem: Awakening, 3DS, 2013, Nintendo/Intelligent Systems. A great game in many ways, but less finely-tuned due to the open-ended nature, which holds it back from other FE games on this list that climb up much higher.

38 was a sports game that took a bit of a departure from reality by adding offensive and defensive super-moves. Not that franchises like this are expected to be realistic.
