One doesn't need to believe in the writings of the bible, or the quran, or the gospel of the flying spaghetti monster, to know that certain teachings make sense. The ten commandments is a pretty decent place to start. I think most "good" people can agree that there is very little wrong with those. I sure as hell am not religious. I don't believe what is written in any of those books. I would never let it run my life. But hidden in there beneath the smiting and the flooding are some good rules to live by. It certainly isn't the worst thing to come about from religion. |
Pretty bad that I do this after my previous comment, but oh well I am going down (tovhell) anyways so might as well make my time here worth it.
Most atheist people don't have a problem with (most) of the first ten commandments. (Since sex before marriage is a bit to much as a wedding costs almost 7.000 euro's down here, blaim people who would rather see another continent I dare you).
The commandments the douchebags in the vatican made up after that is what causes most problems, like no anticonception and no vaccins. The history of the Vatican trying to sabbotage science didn´t also make them very popular. That science is what we now percieved as common knowledge and let us not forget the pedophile crimes comitted by the so called men of god/the church in the Netherlands and other European country´s.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
