It's a VGC poll. If it makes you feel better I could proxy-vote ~20 "yes"-votes for you.

Should I get it? | |||
| Yes | 9 | 25.00% | |
| No | 27 | 75.00% | |
| Total: | 36 | ||

Nein!
Not exactly related to the topic, but has anybody here bought replacement shells for their SPs? How does the plastic feel compared to the original?

I already do have an emulator on my phone, and I even use my Wiimote as a controller, but nothing beats the original experience. |
I beg to differ. Also, the GBA SP isn't the original experience, the GBA is. The GBA is the most comfortable handheld released by Nintendo to the SP which is the most uncomfortable. The PSP I'd say is the second most comfortable handheld, and has a beautiful back lit screen perfect for GBA games. GBA is 3:2 and PSP is 16:9 so you can play it with some small borders on the left and right, or you can stretch it and there won't be too noticeable of a difference. Everything runs well on it aside from Golden Sun 1 and 2 which have framedrops on the world map and crash the emulator when getting water djinn.

Nah, playing GBA games on the PSP is nice and all, but it still doesn't come close to playing on an actual GBA.

It doesn't come close to playing on an actual GBA for what reason? Aside from the Golden Sun games, it's ran everything I've been interested in playing at full speed on a larger sized better quality screen, the convenience of having all your GBA games with you at one time, being able to use save states(something I don't do anyways,) and is more comfortable than every Nintendo portable aside from the original GBA. The system can also be put to sleep or a battery saver for days if the system gets too low of a battery and auto shuts off where you can return to the exact spot you left the game off at.
Just because you might emulate the games doesn't mean you have to stop collecting them. Doesn't stop me.

Something just doesn't click with me when I'm playing games on something other than the original hardware.

(On the left: AGS 001 with light ON, On the right: AGS 101 with light turned OFF)
It obviously pales in comparison to the AGS 101, but it gets the job done.
How does it look in the dark? From the picture you showed off it doesn't look too bad.
