Following my discovery that Free Civ works on the Wii U, I reached out to the admins of their facebook page. They have offered to hand there page over to me.

I have so much going on that I am unsure whether I will have time to fully operate the page. Please let me know in this thread if anyone is interested.

Free civ? at least thousands. It's free and it plays in your browser. Me and my friends play it regularly through firefox.

I only knew of the download version until right now. Where do I have to go to play FreeCiv in a browser?

It's the full game and works on the Wii U browser as well as firefox, chrome and IE , albeit slowly on the Wii U for now.  I am reaching out to the developers to see if they could optimize it for Wii U.

It works on my Wii U, albeit quite laggy. I'll have to give it a try on my PC (which also uses Opera) to check if the problem is the Browser proper, or it's implementation on the Console
