wouldn't shock me if some MS decision makers were human faced lizards with no care at all about the situation of the employees (or anyone but themselves for that matter) and one of them just realized he needed some more to fulfill his axing quota

Well that's not a surprise anymore, most of product made in chinese is will be replicated, from shoes, TV, ect.
