You have discs that have been damaged through "usage" ? . I don't know what you do to them. I assure you the player doesn't damage discs( if you have not bought the 360 of course) So the discs are only in danger when changed. Which will happen far more often with games on multiple discs than with one disc.

(Which is unfortunately a real problem, I lost CD3 of Wing Commander4 and Disc2 of Freespace2 which is pretty annoying. They should have used a DVD)

Why do people keep saying oh just compress it lol then it can fit on a floppy disc. Why do people want less quality!!!! I just can't understand it. Some people fail at life.

Also... Kojima knows more about making a game than you. Live with it. Then go kill yourself.

Kojima puts way too many cutscenes in his games in proportion to the amount of gameplay, that's probably one reason why.

So there is some sort of compression going on it seems 

so because someone is thinking they might compress a bit of data he fails at life?

and then you advise these people to committ suicide because some guy knows more about game development than they do? Why may I ask? 

or do you usually surf around the internet to lave half assed comments telling people that they should commit suicide? Quite pathetic. 

Reasons to want compression:

1)  Your favorite console's media storage is small and puny so you want games to fit on it.

2)  You realize that most disc space is usually taken up by sound and FMV and would rather have 90% quality on those in exchange for a few extra levels of gameplay.

3)  You realize that the average consumer wouldn't know the difference between midly compressed media and uncompressed media.

4)  You realize that the developers are jerks and are just getting into a bragging contest of who can use the most space. 

5)  Uncompressed media smells of Elder berries.

 well i think that the "format war" was a huge part that caused that not to happend. it only slowed down the progress of blu. so i blame HDDVD!!!

Who cares, since when more storage equals bad. I don't get it, if he can use 50gig let him use 50gig. Better for me.
