Forums - Sales - The upcoming X1 price cut will make it match the PS4 sales in the US

It's starting to get to the point that he should just be banned for nonsense threads. It isn't clever, it isn't even optimistic based on a sliver of reality. It is literally drivel. It adds nothing to the community, it lacks logic. The poster is even starting to use the globally in the US thing tacked on to their posts which shows it isnt serious or well-reasoned. If people get moderated for quote trees I just don't see how a user with less than 300 posts, all consisting of vomit in text form is allowed to make threads consistently.

Agreed. I'm here to learn from the folks who know much better than me, but I can see quite clearly this guy isn't someone to learn from.

Check the frontpage, X1 outsold PS4 by more than double in the US and it will continue like this from now on as I have predicted.

Why do you do this to yourself? You know MS released a price cut and several bundles with free games for that to happen, you know most people predicted a huge sales spike after hearing about these desperate move by MS,  you know gap in US sales won't mainting being like this after Sony applies similar holiday deals.

It will be maintained for a few weeks, the sales increases especially during holidays where X1 can sell 1 or 2 millions means it will outsell completely the PS4 in the US.

Oh right cause the PS4 will completely stop selling to a halt this holiday.

It won't triple their sales like X1 did, especially definitely not in the US.

don't forget US is FPS territory and X360 was FPS console.

many FPS fans still come from X360 background, and now with COD and Halo they migrate to X1

So PS4 has no game that campers to the US audience, and X1 will  therefore outsellf 3 to 1 the PS4 at least for another 3-4 months.

And because during holidays consoles sell in the order of millions, that means X1 will sell 2 million more than the PS4 and bring the gap to 0 and continue to outsell it globally from there (In the USA)

I'm not sure if your posts are serious anymore but you can't possibly expect the X1 to mainting these kind of spike holiday+pricecut+bundles sales for months.

Also PS4 has the same games as X1 and if you haven't noticed COD AW sold almost the same on PS4 than on X1, even if PS4 has a lead f 1M more consoles in US X1 had a COD bundle out with price cut. So much for the reign on the land of the FPS.

Once you've had a big dose of humility, I'm hoping you stop making threads like this. You seem to think Sony will just sit there and let MS have all the sales. Have you considered the GTA5 bundle or is that not part of your assessment? And do you think that the LBP3 bundle won't have any effect whatsoever, baring in mind that it broadens the demographic rather than just narrowing it.

MS are making exactly the same mistake they make every generation. They're targeting FPS fans, which is why games outside of that genre will always struggle to sell on the XB1. In the mean time, Sony are broadening that demographic, which is why a variety of games sell well on the PS4 (and sold well on previous consoles). It's not about hitting COD/GTA numbers, it's about offering a variety of games and opening up the platform for more interesting titles.

The XB1 just might close the gap slightly in these next two months but next year Sony will sell more yet again, as they always have. It's all well and good winning when you're dropping your price and giving away free games, but that's not sustainable in the long run and those shareholders will start getting vocal again.

Look at previous generations, LBP didn't sell 1/10 of what Call of duty or Halo did on X360

what makes you think LBP3 will?

CoD is one of the biggest franchises ever.

My posts are full of reason, logic and well argumented.

My prediction made months ago only now comes to fruition, and it shows that I was 100 % right.

Please re-read what I have said and tell me exactly where I was wrong, unreasonble or illogical.

What part of my post didn't you understand?

And as far as pointing out what part of your argument is wrong: The gap is over 6 million, not 2 million.

Just wait and see.

It took until November to prove that my initial prediction was right, even if my thread was locked, I got hated and ridiculed at.

I can wait another 3 months.

Did you also predicted a desperate move by MS with a price cut and free games? Also your prediction would only become true if X1 catch PS4 in USA which is unlikely

If M$ keeps the price at $350 then yes, I can see it overtaking PS4 in monthly sales from here on out. UK is a different story. I do not foresee that happening.

Is the X1 leading the PS4 in the US right now? That would be a big fat no, so your initial prediction is wrong.... dead dead wrong. The X1 needs to overcome a 1.1-1.2 million gap as of the beginning of November. It can close the gap, but it doesn't mean much if it gets outsold in 10 or 11 of the 12 months of the year.

You need to know that there is a distinction between what you want to happen from what is actually happening. You were ridiculed because you keep claiming what you want to happen is happening.

I dont agree with everything this drill guy is saying, but you guys are pretty close minded ps4 fanboys here quoting all kinds of ps4 stats. As we speak Microsoft is now the 2nd biggest company in the world passing Exxon this morning at 409 bln market cap. If anybody can sustain price drops it would be them. Sony on the other hand is losing money left and right and what little money they are making off of ps4 if any would be gone with a 50 dollar price cut. Sony cannot afford this period, and it wont happen until the price of the components they are using comes down which could be 6 months to a year. Also your argument that the ps4 is 6 million ahead which it could be, and in the same thread you guys are sayin that ps4 ALMOST sold as many cod units in the US is ridiculous. Your basically saying that despite all the more units sony has sold people still buy more games on xbox. This is precisely why 360 was considered the winner console before is because people buy more games on xbox compared to ps4. So after a few years guess who the developers want to make games for. I happen to be very in the know with financials and technology, i'm not just a gamer. The stuff that microsoft is doing with the xbox on the software side is unrivaled, sony isnt a software company and cant compete in this space. They are a hardware company and did a fantastic job of making a nice piece of hardware but by the end of next year, the xbox if not already is much more pleasant will be more pleasant to play on with more features, if you like rpgs like all PS people do then ps4 is fine thats way it always has been, but anything and everything else xbox excels out. This is not fanboy talk its what i know. Microsoft is releasing windows 10 next year which will run on anything from a smartwatch your car to the xbox and laptops. This kind of cross compatibility is unheard of. Sony doesnt have the money the resources or the know how to compete with that. Even if people are just buying xboxes because the use them for something other than games, they will still sell. Maybe not outsell globally maybe not in europe, but in the USA they will sell a TON of them.  I personally bought for the simple fact that i like the games and the online features are better than PS always have been and server up time for xbox is like 99% where its a weekly thing with PS having probs. If sony goes bankrupt and its a possibility your gonna be a tight spot with ps4 services.
