And 68 million of the remaining 75 million PS3 owners who don't have a PS4 or TLOU also have the chance to by the complete package at a pretty cheap price.

Fact of the matter is the vast majority of PS3 and PS4 owners don't own TLOU, and they've never played it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to entice more people to buy the game. They are actually not trying to convince people who already own the game to buy it a 2nd or 3rd time.

Comments like "triple dipping" are just pathetic.

Don't act like there's actually that many people to sell to. You have to think about used game sales, renting, borrowing, people replacing older consoles with slimmer versions and simply not caring for the game. There's not much more audience to sell to. I'm not saying tripple dipping on consumers part, I'm talking about Sony.

I guess you are new to gaming. Let me explain it to you, when a game is critically acclaimed the companies tend to release GOTY editions which include, if any, all the DLCs released up to that point. The consumers who are yet to buy the game are aimed with these with the addition of the extra stuff. Since Naughty Dog games score a little higher than the other games, they are appropriate candidates for this treatment.

My post has nothing to do with it being a GOTY edition. But since you wanna talk about that, GOTY editions usually come out around a year after release depending on the amount of DLC. Which is what I thought the PS4 version was handling since that's the usual time for that type of release. Here, Sony is doing that twice at seperate times of the year to not take focus from either one while being able to sell one during Christmas time at full price while the other one sells during the summer drought. Its milking at its finest. Sell the same game at 3 different times within a year and a half to make as much profit as possible from it being "new". I figured Sony wouldn't do this since so many people saw TLOU: R as a GOTY edition but I guess I was wrong. You have to admit this is the first time something like THIS has happened.

Triple dipping? Wow.

How can someone triple dip though? Do you know what you're saying or do you like making random comments?

I guess dipping was the wrong word. Maybe triple "milking".

Halo 4: release 2012
Halo 4 GOTY: release 2013
Halo 4 (MCC): release 2014

Wow, triple dipping hurrdurrphurr

TLOU: 2013

TLOUR: 2014

TLOU GOTY: 2014

See the difference?

Also, Halo 4 is 1 of the four games and beta being released at $60. And its GOTY Edition was $40.

Anyways, great game, great sales, of course they'll want to maximize the profit. Everybody does this in the industry, and it pretty short time frames as well, so why bother criticizing only when it's TLOU GOTY ? :)

The people who already bought it won't buy it, and the people who didn't will if they want to. End of the story. I don't see what's wrong with that.
It's like complaining a game is still available in stores a year after its release. Ridiculous.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

It's milking, really, not dipping at this point but its not really what I'd call triple, either. Since we've gone through DLC, Season Passes, DLC not on Season Passes, a Remaster, and now a GotY. The milking has been long and hard.

Don't think anyone can argue with that wordchoice :)

I love the game, but they ARE milking the shit out of it. And why not? When you got it, flaunt it, etc...

The TLOU: R is a GOTY edition for PS4 owners. TLOU: Goty Edition is for PS3 owners. The timing may be bad, it should have been released a year ago and I agree to that, but it has nothing to do with "tripple dipping". Every version is aimed for different people.

And this is not the first time it is happening. Halo 4 is the same, yet you are proudly saying that you are buying it. You should be against it out of principle.

But... But... Sony is milking consumers ! :(

I've already responded to a Halo 4 comment. Just read that.

Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 had "GotY Editions" 4-5 years later, at 20$ MSRP... about the same price as used.

Its not "everybody".
