Sony were pretty clear that building the PS4's install base is a priority for them. Price cuts aren't just to help boost low sales, they're to maintain high ones or potentially lead to even higher sales. That's a concept many don't seem to understand :/

Exactly and that came for Kaz himself. Its not that we have special insight or understanding,  its just a matter of listening to what people say.

Bunch of small changes, how much have it helped save? 10-20 bucks?

At least 30 and don't forget GDDR5 costs have lowered considerably since 2013.  It had an uptick for a while with one major manufacturing plant catching on fire but is back to lowering again.

I'm asking only about this change... overall I think sony probably already cut 50 bucks so far.

These changes specifically around 30.

If true it's quite good... probably some 100k sells all the R&D of the change is paid and then is more profit or price cut.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I see they have not changed the way they attach the hdmi port, this causing a lot of issues at the moment.

Like what?

Here's one i'm working on now, the hdmi broke off, if it was soldered through hole it would be stronger!

I heard that has already been changed.

Not sure, but judging by the pics you've posted, they havn't yet.
