Indeed, that part of the article stood out to me the most too.
Hatred doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, but Postal, Hooligans, Manhunt and all those types of games never did either. But it's a crazy notion to say "this has no artistic merit, ergo it shouldn't exist" why don't we take that metric to movies/music/TV shows etc too? There'd hardly be anything produced.
80% of the best games of all time would also no longer exist.
