The Brazilian event that begun last thursday (wednesday was press only) and ended this sunday managed to have an attendance of 250k, similar to this year TGS.
Truth be told, TGS has only 2 days open to the public (i think), and it is actually down YoY from 270k in 2013. That said, i still think this is an achievement and shows the importance of LATAM to the game market.
The event is far from perfect, with lines of 3 hours to play for games like CoD:AW and Bloodborne. Nintendo absence is also deeply felt and you can see fans with hats, t-shirts and accessories with references to the company. Unofficial 3DS meetings also happened. I got more than 50 street passes on the day i was there. Blizzard and Riot were also missed.
Finally, despite the size, the event had no new announcement.
Here are some images.
