what happened to alanwake?I am keeping my eye on that game,,,

also did they really choose the name nuts and bolts for bajo kazooie?it already reminds me of Rtahcet and clanck and now with blots and nuts it remindes me of R&C even more.(even though I think, to my eyes, R&c looks abit better graphically).I am sure banjo will also strugle to sell since 360 fans are even more hardcore than PS3 fans,,don't you think so?

Alan Wake got officially moved into 2009. If you look at the bottom of the list, you'll see a 2009 lineup with about ten games already planned including APB, Huxley, Dungeon Hero and Kingdom Under Fire II.

I'm not good at predicting sales but I think Banjo will do a good two million. It's coming out in the winter, should be quality software, and even Viva Pinata and Kameo pulled good sales. I personally love the direction the series is going. The car customization looks amazing and I think everyone is being a hypocrite. Everyone always shouts how they want re-invention and big changes but when it comes time a developer does it, everyone just wants the same old game.

and it starts to piss me off big time lol :)

now about huxley... they talked about it somewhere being pushed to 2009 or it's an assumption... because I didn't hear about that game for ever....

Yeah Huxley is confirmed Q1 2009 also.

Just as an add-on to Banjo, I think it should be said how well Rare does vehicular combat for those thinking this game will be garbage. Blast Corps and Diddy Kong Racing must not be ringing any bells for some. Not to mention how much vehicle platforming there was in Conker's Bad Fur Day. Am I the only one that remembers riding a bull, raptor, hoverboard and tank in that game?

I just gave the list a very small update. I put The Protector down in the 2009 section until the developer commits to a release window and changed the Infinite Undiscovery date of release to September 2nd. Enjoy!

I just updated the list. A lot of games that were basically vaporware were removed. It gives the list a cleaner look and a better idea at what can be expected in 2008. Two major releases, APB and Alan Wake were moved into the 2009 section and a Viva Pinata sequel was added in there also. Some release dates were changed. I added new pics in and made 2 larger pics as opposed to 3 smaller ones. Infinite Undiscovery finally got a release date in August so it's been added to the list.

On a sidenote, this is for those still bitching about games being on this list that are also on PC. What you must understand is, many gamers do not play games on their PCs. A PC is not a console. Many people have no problem owning all three consoles and still won't game on their PC. Because of this reason I have these games on the list. It's not meant to be an illusion to show more exclusives than are really there. Each game is labeled whether it's on the PC because those that are interested can pick them out of the pack. I wanted to show what exclusive advantage a 360 had over a Wii and PS3, because for most gamers, those are the only three machines they will consider purchasing, and this was made for those wondering about purchasing a 360. I also believe handhelds should be held in their own regard and not directly be comparable to consoles as far as exclusives. If you think differently, I don't care, because this is my topic.

That line is BS.  It's estimated that the PC gaming userbase numbers over 200 million, and the more "hardcore" PC gaming userbase numbers well over 30 million, if not 40.  There are over 15 million active Steam users alone.

30 million active PC gamers is more than either the GC or Xbox install bases from last gen, but they were never ignored when a games exclusivity was called into question.  Hell, it's more than the install base of ANY current gen console.

You can't exclude a platform because some people would rather game on something else.  Some people would only ever think about gaming on the PC, and completely ignore the consoles.  Some people ignore one console in favor of the other. You can't base this on what some people do.  The PC is a viable platform that competes for sales of multiplatform games.  You can't deny this.

Hell, the PC's popularity in Europe is probably one of the main reasons the 360 does so poorly in the region vs the US.

I don't want to derail this thread, so don't feel the need to respond.  However, think about what I said. :)

the problem, is that most of those players play mmo's, and pirate software. So publishers rarely get blockbusters on the PC. Maybe that's why call of duty moved to consoles?
anyway, not everyone even has a high end PC to play modern games (maybe last gen games) and people know consoles are the cheaper option, so they get a console to play games on.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

First, I'm not sure why gamers playing MMO's is bad, since it gives a better cut of profits for the developers in question. And true, many people are pirates, which is terrible.

But I don't understand the blockbusters bit. If by 'blockbusters' you mean console multi-million sellers, then you're wrong. The only 'blockbusters' that don't show up on PC are either first-party games or japanese oriented games(such as jRPGs). There are some exceptions of course.

If you're saying that very few PC games are multi-million sellers, how can you be so sure? Digital Distribution is increasing more and more than ever, with developers like Popcap selling 5 millions copies of Bejeweled on PC through DD. PC games are also cheaper to develop, and more profitable for every copy sold. World of Warcraft has made more profit than Rockstar did with the entire GTA series.

PC games are also very expansion friendly. The Sims sold 100 millions with the expansions. Guild Wars sold 5 millions with expansions. And so on.

It's Funny you mentioned Call of Duty. Yes, it moved from PC to PC+Consoles, but Call of Duty 4 is being a smashing success on PC, and by the end of it's lifetime I'm betting the PC version will have outsold the PS3+360 versions combined.

PC has actually been getting more exclusives than Wii+PS3+360 combined, so I don't see how it's all bad. You only need to look at PC's 2008 list to notice how much better the PC exclusives are than any console.

And Console gaming is not cheaper. For $500 you can build a Gaming PC that will play games better than 360 or PS3 ever could. You also save ALOT of money on PC games, atleast $10 for every game bought. And you don't need to pay to play, like what Xbox Live is doing.

If you're going to throw out numbers, make sure to have some links attached to a respectable source that shows how they came to those numbers, otherwise you might as well not even go there.

I'm not sure why, but you seem to have a really big issue with those PC/360 games being on this list. Maybe you take these forums a bit too seriously and really think this 360 vs. PS3 thing is a pissing contest worth participating in. I just wanted to make a list for purchasers of the 360, and having these games on the list is handy for them. You obviously must have felt your console of choice was getting the short end of the stick and decided to create your own list as some combative tool, which it really shouldn't be. Your disapproval of this list is going to make me lose sleep tonight, so for you, and just for you, why not just think the title says "Microsoft Exclusives of 2008", so then you can just add in all of those PC games onto this list and call it a day? It's just so difficult for a simpleton like myself to figure out exclusives for a company with two platforms that can basically handle the same types of games.

Thank you for not wanting to derail this thread. That was very kind of you. I'll definitely think about what you said. :)

@Onyxmeth

This is a VERY helpful list to us 360 owners including the games coming out on PC. With the higher and higher minimum specs for PC games nowadays, its very helpful to know about these games before people decide whether to upgrade their PCs.

By the way, I tried to find you on Xbox Live using that Gamertag on your sig, but it doesnt work?

XBox 360 will continue to sell well in the US. Upcoming 360 games: NG2, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie 3 and Gears of War 2 will help 360 sales in US. The rest of the world is unknown. At least the 360 does well in the US market.
