Still a bit bizarre for the sum average to be so far removed from the average multiple, but there's not enough information to map this out but you won't get such discrepencies with a shallow linear fit. An sharp fall-off is pretty normal for MMOs, so that likely explains it but the front would be bloated enough to weigh out the average to look "big".

I suspect that is why we are not given a median, because if the median and average (of 1.8, or average plays per player) were close, then there's no way for the sum and multiple averages to be so far apart. I suspect the guy/girl that did the stats used an Excel, created a avg. column per day and did sum the avg of each day.

No your numbers are fine, and your mean and median aren't far removed nor is your sum average far from your average multiple.

But if you take an average that is far removed from the median, you'd get a very large discrepancy between the sum average and the average multiple... as per the scenario presented here. This means you have a left/right bloated data set. You have bunched up data and a stretched tail. (And yes, they likely did do this in excel...)

Like I said, I suspect a deferred but exponential decay. That would be the easiest way to throw the median far from the mean.

The things you do just because Sony made a marketing deal with Bungie. I thought you were a GT or FF type of guy.

But well... in my list friend the game droped hard from more than 80% playing at any time to about 20% (right now there are only three friends of mine playing over 12 online).

I´ve lost completely the interest in playing this game.

Say somthing worth at least.

And no... I'm any type of the games guy... the game just need to be good... and I won't try to question your anedoctal data because I don't believe you have a next-gen console and Destiny on PS3 / 360 is close to dead (you can look at the forum where it is really hard to find people to play on PS360).

But I know you here for about 2 or 3 years. You never talked about Halo 3, Halo Reach or Halo4 nor Gears of War.

It was all about GT 5 or 6, or Dark Souls, or Metal Gear or any obscure Japanease game...
