Subsistence is a better overall package than Snake Eater. Not only do you have a choice when it comes to camera controls (or lack thereof) but you'll also have access to the translated versions of Metal Gear 1 and 2, which will give you even more insight into the story.

I don't know where you live, but the European version of Snake Eater already featured the majority of the other additional content, but even than it's still worth it to get Subsistence instead.

It's a shame you had to miss MGO. One of the best communities around...
