Forums - Website Topics - We need an "ignore user" option

How many of you guys would actually use the ignore button? I bet the button would go unused if it were to be added. I know a lot of people like to say things like, "Oh, I hate Gballzack!," or "Crazzyman trolled the Wii thread!," but do they really bother you *that* much? No one is forcing you to reply you to reply to their posts; you don't have to respond if you don't want to. If they're bothering you or trolling, there's a report button.

Although it wouldn't hurt to add an ignore user option, I just don't see it as a necessary feature. As Words of Wisdom has pointed out, there are more useful features that should take priority, particularly the option to view pictures, sigs, and avatars. What makes these options more important, you ask? It's simple, and I will explain it: Not everyone who visits the site is using a high speed internet connection. There are still users that use dial-up. It's vital that those users are able to still visit the site without having to wait ages to load a page. There's no sig limit on this site, so that often results in users using huge pics and large gif files.

There's also a reason the mods are here. These guys have your back. They're here to help you! You can always PM them if you're having problems or if someone is making you feel uncomfortable. Trust me, if there's a problem and you notify the mods, it will be taken care of. Now, I'm not against adding the feature or anything. I wouldn't expect ioi to add it anytime soon, though, especially when you take into consideration what the mods have said in this thread.

Meh, I don't need no stinkin' ignore button.

I actually find trolls amusing...and sad. Kinda like the douche bags that team kill in online FPS's. Such pathetic beings.

If you let them upset you, you'll never be happy, because assholes are everywhere.

Although the option to ignore some users is indeed tempting, ( that roussounmanman is a real asshole ) I totally agree with TalonMan.

In real life you don't have such an option and it's much more irritating then. Just ignore them by not responding to them. They'll get angrier too and maybe get banned :)
