Here's what H2A is running simultaneously: Two game (graphics) engines - the OG H2 and H2A, and the original audio (music and FX) and completely new music and FX. And the switch is instantaneous. If it weren't running the OG engine it could in theory run at a higher resolution but that's not the intended nature of the project. It's designed to be a remake that lets you switch between the two instantaneously. Now you can feel one way or another about that, but that is indeed the intent.

This should keep the trolls at bay.

Anybody wanna dig up the E3 reveal? I thought they said this during the press conference. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

They said they were trying their best to make Halo 2 1080p and 60FPS but were having trouble.

i think when they said it they were talking about the multi which is 1080p/60fps but either way at e3 they even said halo2a may not reach 1080p

i'm from the camp that doesn't really care about 1080p but it would still be nice to give haters one less thing to gripe about. will it effect my enjoyment? no. would be cool, though.
