DestinyCrappy story checkLack of diverse gameplay check
And let's not forget that Destiny has more content and has better graphics. So the man has a point.

Have it pre-ordered and still can't wait. Read a few reviews and can't find anything in them that would really put me off looking forward to playing this game, even the seemingly overly negative review on Gamespot, guy writes it like he is depressed with life in general, yet he still found room in his cold heart to say something nice.
'Bask in the beautiful roar of your Lotus Exige. The cars and environments are inarguably gorgeous: Norway's snow-capped mountains bring to mind melodramatic sagas and triumphant symphonies, and the lochs and castles featured within Scotland's many pastoral tracks might inspire you to call your travel agent and book a European vacation.'
Sounds fantastic. :)
just went to Metacritic and just as i supposed the lack of content is hurting the reviews, also just want to point out the 20 user reviews that rated the game a 0 or a 1... the fact that people take the time to go to a site just to Shit on a game, because its not on their console of choice or because they simply want to troll is probably one of the most pathetic things ive ever seen.

CVG 8/10
+A contender for the best looking racing game ever
+Clubs make you feel part of something bigger
-Not enough variety in race types and challenges
-Arcade handling model sits at odds with the purity of available events

From what I have seen it isnt what you think it is or PGR wasnt what you think it was. |
Perhaps it is the Dutch reviews I've read and most where quite positive and loved the gameplay which was due to the sense of speed. But mind me I've read mostly the positive reviews since I mostly read dualshockers, insidegamer and pu.nl. Neither have I read user reviews since bashing is a trend, insidegamer even sees driveclub as the Next Gen PGR, but I could be wrong.
Insidegamer quote translated "However, it is easy to evaluate the racing experience. Drive Club feels like a new generation of Project Gotham Racing. The pace is fast , the game is nicely challenging and there is sufficient attention to realism to grow . Racing sensation"From what I read in the quote it should pretty much play like gotham racing, but perhaps other reviews have a different opinion.

So its a average racing game, not sure how that will make it sony's biggest commercial fail.

Ghosts lacks way more than Destiny for anything you trying to say.

Evolution might have optimized the basics and by far most important aspects of a racegame but it doesn't appeal to the masses who want the 200 cars and don't care if the only spec that matters in which class the car belongs to act in a certain way and whether it is FWD or RWD. Neither do the masses care if the lighting looks realistic and if each detail is implanted in a car. Dear Sony you just waste a shitload of money since many people won't even try out the PS+ version with these reviews. Which is a shame since it is basically almost the perfect spiritual successor of PGR, and the things that matter are very well executed |
I haven't seen sales figures yet so how can anyone agree it's a commercial failure?
