After many months of beta testing, Project Spark has recently announced that on October 7th, it will be officially released for PC and Xbox One. Many good things come with the release, including a carry over of your beta account to your live account. Speaking of carry over, all of your unlocks and creations will carry over as well. The developers, Team Dakota, also reiterated that Project Spark will now and forever be a free digital download.

Team Dakota will also be releasing a starter pack available for purchase on October 7th (now available for pre-order). The starter pack contains many extras and downloadable content for Project Spark. What that content is, exactly, remains to be seen.

Lastly, a reward will be given to all players that participated in the beta testing, as a way of saying thank you from Team Dakota. It will show up on your account after the release of the game. If you have not downloaded Project Spark, you still have until the 5th of October to be eligible for the reward.

Is this a windows 8 game only? (on pc)

Windows 8 only. Good or bad?

Very bad, for many reasons. Win 7 >>> win 8. Would have certainly tried the game out of microsoft didnt try to push win 8 through this game, as if it were gonna make a difference anyways. 

The game has obviously had a shit tons of effort put into it, and killing its sales on pc for win 8 exclusivity is just sad. F2P is really big on pc, and win 8 is just a small chunk of the pc market

Are microsoft gonna push this because its been silent since E3. I thought this was their little big planet?

I didn't mean literally, I just mean their exclusive play box style game creation title.

windows 8 can be made into windows 7 with one easy windows start menu 8 download. People really need to learn about windows because there is too much misinformation going on about windows 8 and 8.1. Both of which are faster than windows 7 on the same pc. Only issue with windows 8.1 for me is it's driver certificate bs where some android devices on fastboot wont be detected but it can easily be circumvented. Can't wait to play spark on my pc!!!
