I fell in love with the RPG genre because of his creation Final Fantasy.

If it wasnt for him, FF wouldnt exist. In fact FF7 came from the depths of his brain.

He's like George Lucas. Star Wars isnt Star Wars without him.

Final Fantasy isnt FF without Hironobu Sakaguchi.

Thank god then that after the stop gap of Blue Dragon, we get his next proper Masterpiece.

I've been wanting to play Lost Odyssey for some time now :P a pity it's on the 360 :/ I think it would have done amazingly on the PS3.

It is a shame that some people wont play it . Unfortunately Microsoft fund Mistwalker so there is no chance of any on PS3

Lost Odyssey was definitely a fantastic game. I felt like I hadn't played a Final Fantasy since FF IX, until I picked up LO.

FF4, 6, and maybe 7 were probably better than LO, but it sure beat out 8, 9, 10, and 12 (which I didn't like due to the lame MMO style combat).

It's a shame so many people will never buy the game thanks to the reviews erroneously stating long loading times or nuking its score because it's a "JRPG". Why the hell don't they dock points on games like Halo or MGS sequels with the same derivative gameplay they've had for years....

Double standard for FPS and other genres vs. RPGs it seems like :/

I'd probably play it if I had the chance. I don't like the art style of the game that much compared to FF's art style.

Yeah I definitely have a prob with the art style, it's just... weird.. but some of those cutscene's looked totally epic xD I wanna play it, but I don't own a 360 :P Nor do I have any immediate plans to do so. It was a great choice on Microsoft's behalf to fund ^^ I just wish I could play it on the PS3 :P

You guys think the art style is weird? I thought it was a bit tame and elegant, all things considered.

The art quality in most Final Fantasies is generally quite high, but you can't deny they're often funky and over the type. The costumes and character designs for 7+ have been increasingly bizarre. I think I would have to give FFX top awards for lame art. FFXII's Judge design was fantastic, although Basch, Vaan, Penelo and other assorted characters were pretty bad.

I love Lost Odyssey's art style. It's a refreshing look for a JRPG genre that relies too heavily on girly-men and doe-eyed art styles.

Yeah, refreshing is an apt word. I guess Kaim's design could still be considered mildly effeminate, but man it was a great break from the girly-man heroes of modern Final Fantasies

I'm working on some LO fanart featuring Jansen, but I'll probably never finish it. Too much work to finish for web dev customers to ever finish my own art :(
