With the 64bit architecture and the amount of RAM available, sony should have simply made an SDK available for the PS4 (like android or IOS) and open the system up to software developers. That way developers can develop applications for the PS4 as they see fit. We could even have our own version of teh chrome browser or rather than wait for sony to release a media app any willing and capable developer could have just made a media app for the PS4. Everything on the PS4 already runs like a standalone app as it stands with exception to system wide features. So if they wanna take full responsibility of loading their OS with apps, least they could do is get them out in a timely fashion. Android and IOS have been doing it for years, there really is no reason imaginable why in this day and age a phone with 512mb of RAM is more functional than a console with 8GB or ram and processing power that is over 80 times more powerful than any mobile processor. |
No. Many apps are third party. ioi could go make a vgchartz app if he wanted too.
