Ryse flopped and MS allowed it to be released on Steam, I wonder if Sony would do the same if this game lives up to its feedback.

The order will not flop. Nothing released on the PS4 currently will flop. Not until the market gets a bit more saturated with software. Actually, given the increased installed base, it will probably outsell infamous.

I'll wait for the reviews. Honestly, this early in the gen I'm just looking for a couple of graphical showcases, anyway.  That's why I bought Ryse (which actually didn't suck).

Just to give you some info The Order: 1886's developer Ready At Dawn Studio has developed three games which scored 85, 86 and 92 on Metacritic.

Crytek are not even comparable.

That is not an indication of anything. Bungie games averaged on high 80's if not 90's.

Then... Destiny.

From the footages that I saw, as a TPS enthusiast, I can tell you this game mostly aim for graphical fidelity.

The enemy AI and the camera angles are iffy at most.

This will be a good/great game for sure, as its developers have made three games with 85+ scores on Metacritic, one of them being the PSP's highest rated game.

So obviously it will not flop.

I wouldn't bet on it outselling Infamous just yet. Increased Infamous: SS is almost passing Infamous 2 that came out in 2011on PS3.

Install base ain't the right measurer of a gem success.

Wait till the final product, two of the three games from Ready At Dawn didn't have good previews but ended up getting 85 and 92 on Metacritic.

Threads like this always remind me that Gears of War invented the TPS genre.

Gears invented the cover based 3rd person shooter. You had plenty of third person shooters before it came out. For example, Resident evil 4.

I'm more interested in the conversation than the game per se. I'm here for TPS discussion.

Also what games from Ready at Dawn were not getting good previews? Most of their games were made under Sony supervision.

I don't think Gears of War was even the first cover based 3rd person shooter. But it definitely made the mechanic popular though.

Nobody supervised those games. They were made entirely be Ready At Dawn Studio. They are Daxter (2006) and God Of War: Chains Of Olympus (2008).

Everyone was cynical about them being able to deliver as they were new and unproven and PSP was considered "incapable" of handling these games (especially God Of War) on the same scale as the PS2 without severe compromises. But they did with flying colours.

I don't think any game got cover down like Gears to this date.

I played Spec Ops: The Line a month ago. While it was fun, the cover mechanic was horrid and I could understand why not multiplayer.

Gears game mechanics excell on gun control and the transition from cover to moving in action.
