I wonder if the true reason for MGS4 late release is because...

The late release of GTAIV!!

I wonder if Konami held MGS4 to wait for a boost in PS3 numbers in NA thanks to GTAIV. That way they can ensure a better attach rate for it in NA on day one. Maybe even make people think about picking up a PS3 in April for GTAIV and wait a couple of months for MGS4? Thinking about it, every time GTA got bumped, so did MGS4. GTAIV was suppose to be out in October and MGS4 was suppose to be out in March. Then GTA got bumped before Spring and MGS4 went Q2. When GTAIV got a date April 29th, MGS4 gets a date of June 12th....

Coincidence? You be the judge....

The arcade would be the best choice because it is cheaper. I'm not sure if your average joe will know that the 360 version will have exclusive downloadable episodes.

I'm going to say MGS4 because it's bundled and that it's pretty much popular worldwide. GTAIV is multiplatform and I see that game boosting sales more on the 360 than on PS3.

I'm too lazy for this, can someone please post the numbers between san andreas vs mgs3 from each region.

How many MGS fans will pick up a ps3 early to get in on the MGO beta? MGO beta + GTAIV in April will sell more systems than MGS4 alone, surely.

 GTA is now multiplatform.  What part of that don't you understand?  A large portion of GTAIV's sales will go towards old and new 360 owners, especially in America.

It's around 14 million for GTA and 6 million for MGS 1 and 2 (the first on their respective systems). However, with the bundle on PS3 and 360 GTA it could be close on PS3. We shall see.

MGS 4. The 360 is going to be the better version, and coupled with a cheaper price ... I think an exclusive with move more.

The fact that the 360 is cheaper means nothing these days. For a little more money you are getting a lot more with the PS3 and people are definitely beginning to wise up to that, especially now Blu-ray has won the format war. I think GTA4 will sell more units of hardware for Sony than it will for Microsoft. MGS4 will obviously help sell more than its fair share of units as well.

The way I see it Sony won't lose either way. Microsoft may tout they have "exclusive" content coming several months down the line, but 90% or more who pick up a copy of the game won't even know that as it hasn't been well publicized to the average consumer. I'm wondering how many millions of PS2 owners have been waiting to invest in a PS3 just because of this game? I'd be willing to bet that PS3 will see a huge rise in sales that'll last well into the summer.
