It depends on who is making the purchase, MS, the computer company/OS maker, or their Xbox division. Presumably the Xbox division needs high up authority from the board to make a purchase like this and with so many on the board disliking the Xbox division, it's unlikely to come from them. It may be a MS in general purchase and they want it for brand and potential, meaning it is unlikely that they will remove potential profits just to get a leg over competition in a market many of the board don't even want to be in.

It probably is an MS general purchase. No way the Xbox division can make a purchase on their own and yes, that's what I also said~

If MS does buy it, I hope they allocate tons more resources into Mojang. Doing faster updates on consoles so it is on par with PC, and creating new IPs. Otherwise, this does nothing for us as gamers.

Wouldn't be surprised if they stop selling them on non-MS consoles, but if you own it on a PS4 or something you'll keep it

To be honest, they could keep Minecraft on PS3. That would just encourage PS3 owners to look at a X1 as their next-gen upgrade.

The only platform they really probably don't want it on is PS4, that would help the XBox One a lot.

I think we could see a release structure like this for future Minecraft titles:

X1/360/PC/Windows Phone day 1, iOS/Android 2-4 months later, PS3 maybe 6-8 months later.

No that is impossible as Minecraft is on everything and i doubt they would just dump all the fans not on Xbox just like that. They would be nothing without PC
