Josh: I'm much better at video hockey.
Paul: That's not a sport.
Josh: It requires hand and eye coordination.
Paul: It's not a sport if you don't sweat.
Josh: What about golf? It's a sport and you don't sweat.
Paul: It's not a sport if you let a machine do all the work.
Josh: What about car racing?
Paul: Shut up, Baskin.

Car racing is extremely physical, the forces they guys go through and skills required to handle the car are far superior than Forza. Most F1 drivers are extremely fit as they need to be. Their neck muscles for example are put under huge strain.

As for golf, it is hand eye co-ordination but also physical exertion, power and form. I would not be able to just pick up a golf club and hit the ball as far as someone who plays a lot. Yet I might be able to hit the ball (I play Squash and Badminton on a regular basis, both hand eye sports). They also typically walk around 8 or so km over 18 holes (5 miles).

Sitting on your arse and moving your fingers and thumbs is not physical exertion.

So next time Josh starts asking stupid questions again, you know.

Hmm, pie.

I agree with him.

Sports are games, but not all games are sports. Videogames certainly require diligence and strategy, but not always physical prowess.

Much like chess, or Magic: The Gathering.

I agree, but espn needs to remove poker from their viewing lineup unless they're fine with sounding like hypocrites as that most certainly fits in line with chess and checkers as a "competition". Unfortunately, ratings for those shows are too strong to ignore it would seem.

Yeah he's right they're not sports, they're esports which are better :^)

i don't think Josh cares any more now after dialogs like that made him millions

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It isn't, like snooker, curling or bowling.

You need both physical and mental skills to perform and it's highly competitive --> Sport

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I agree with him.

I don't think curling fits in there, the sweepers need to be very fit

you don't exclude american football just because the kicker does nothing all game

Well, I couldn't find an excuse to save Eve Muirhead and now I have one.
