Core gamers are the most likely to be on a site like Reddit. The question is how will the casuals be distributed? I suspect far more casuals will be on 360/PS3, because casuals take longer to upgrade to new generations. I also suspect more casual will play it on XB1, since many of those same casuals play CoD, and MS has the CoD bundle and CoD marketing deal this year.

Overall I suspect Destiny will be something like:

38% PS4
25% XB1
22% 360
15% PS3

While I don't doubt that Destiny will do very well on the 360, I think a lot of casuals will switch to the PS4 because of Destiny, as they certainly know that CoD is available on both at this point.  Casuals have very little console loyalty and do not mind jumping on the product that's trending highest.  It's very much in Playstation's favor that Destiny is releasing before the annual fall FPS titles and that CoD looks to be very much down this year.  Had this been Modern Warfare or Black Ops, I think your point would be much more meaningful.  A bit of bad luck for Microsoft, as a massively anticipated CoD would have benefited them the most.

That's not a big sample size at all.

LMAO! Now that doesn't surprise me. No love for last gen, though? Makes me wonder what the next gen attach rate is on this particular forum.

Updated Numbers

PS4 145 83.33%

Xbox One 20 11.49%

PS3 6 3.45%

Xbox 360 3 1.72%

Total: 174

Check out the full survey from reedit.   It shows that there  are a decent chuck of people buying a next gen console just for Destiny.  From that, we can possible extrapolate the PS4/Destiny bundle's max  uptake.   I will do a calculation later.

I'd rather have mcc

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

It will be interesting to compare the sales of MCC and Destiny on Xbox One.  I predict that Destiny (bein a new game) will probably come out on top.

this is old stuff

just wait for first week numbers to be proven wrong

63:24?

are u kidding me? this would be bigger than watchdogs Ratio

With the bundle sales and install base gap it should be 3 to 1 or more.

so if xbo one will sell 2m units = 40% attachrate (~titanfall numbers)

ps4 have to do 6m+ units = 60% attachrate

thats completly bs

something like that will never happen.

Sony really has bet on the right horse this time and with Destiny and this game gonna sell huge numbers on PS4.

Add me if u want :)

I think it'll be somewhere between 2:1 and 3:1.

Yesterday:

3.) PS4 Destiny
4.) PS4 Destiny Bundles
6.) Xbox One Destiny

Today:

3.) PS4 Destiny
5.) Xbox One Destiny
6.) PS4 Destiny Bundle

The fact that the Xbox One standalone edition (which is boosted again being a free game) is trading blows with PS4 Destiny bundles is amusing.

http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/ref=zg_bsar_tab_t_bs

its not

it was ahead for maybe 1 hour. but fall back the hour after again

this amazon ranking make u think it can manage 3:1?

there is only one way this game will sell 5m+ units on ps4 alone until end of the year.

they will promote it until the end of the year. and the destiny bundle will never be replaced by any other game

and in that case xb1 version has to sell below 2.5 for 2:1 ratio or below 1.67m for 3:1 ratio

the second one is not even discussable

the fist one is possible, but unlikely

this game is not watchdogs.

xbox one gamers buy this game. they want this game. they love sifi shooters

u want to use amazon rankings?

2014:

destiny ps4 #19

destiny xb1 #21

watchdogs ps4 #20

watchdogs xb1 #76

dat gap

You don't have the basic understanding of math to complete this calculation.

If the Xbox sell 2 million, that means that the total sold will be 8.33 million.

That means that the PS4 will sell 5.3 million not 6 million+. Which will be less than  or equal to 50% attach rate come next week. Still unlikly but far from total BS.
