Says MS is happy with initial sales in japan and mentions the word franchise and lost odyssey. Whats the verdict guys?

 

For refrence Lost odyssey has sold about 100k in japan so far according to this site.

didn't this game just come out??? i think its too early for this. maybe in a few months.

Lol. Lost Odyssey is published by Microsoft. The greatest JRPG to come out this generation (and will remain the greatest until FFXIII Versus or perhaps FFXIII) will never come to the PS3.

Hope there is a sequel. #1 is awesome.

decent game, Microsoft can say whatever they want, but it probably wont' sell over 1 million copies WW and is only so because it's on xbox. Quite a shame.

After any of the JRPG comes out, FFXIII, White Knight, FFCC, you won't even remember this one.

Lost Odyssey will never get ported to the PS3. You really should pay attention to what is going on around you. The title was exclusive to the 360, and its seemingly quite likely that Mistwalker is going to remain loyal to Microsoft so your hopes for a sequel on the PS3 are quite slim. I agree it is a shame some of my fellow posters aren't going to get to play this game, because it is really good.

I think the game is worthy of a sequel. I think it was a solid presentation all around, and most gamers on this site have expressed extreme satisfaction with the game. That said I think it is probable that the game will have a sequel as well Blue Dragon. Blue Dragon being more popular in Japan While Lost Odyssey is probably going to be far more popular in North America and likely in Europe.

Regardless based on the differences between Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey its looking like Mistwalker is refining their formula. Would only make sense to carry through to sequels. Where they can naturally apply the lessons learned.

LO2, hmmm...thats way to soon I think, although it has had a good reception by both the media and the gamers so I can't see why not.

PS3? It's owned by Microsoft, well technically Mistwalker who has a deal with Microsoft for the moment. To be quite frank you have a FAR better chances at Metal Gear or Final Fantasy coming to xbox360 than Lost Odyssey to go to PS3. (this gen) I can see a Lost Odyssey II and I anxiously await for it, however I don't think it can be the same characters they wrapped up their story pretty good. I suppose they could do something with Cooke and Mack or even do a pre-quil with Gongora being a good guy..

Im baffled why ms is "happy" with LO's sales in japan.

would be awsome since the first one was a really good game and deserves a sequal.
