This is a great initiative! They need to do this a lot more, and I reckon they will seeing how much good press Splatoon got.

Seems like it from the way Miyamoto's wording it. I think it's a good way to get new ideas flowing into a company that tends to stick to old concepts, which is a great sign if Splatoon is any indication.
