SSBB numbers or higher

I don't think it will do ssbb numbers. Most people who want this game will already have a PS3 and to a certain extent so will ssbb fans but the Wii is going to have a huge influx of consoles at launch if they are holding off shipments like it seems they are.
it should be a pretty huge jump for ps3 in america and japan especially.
the game will sell multiple millions, but no telling how much hardware will sell just because of the game.
im guessing it wont be as big as ssbb b/c the wii is so huge and cheap worldwide, however i think it will be the biggest boost that the ps3 will get this year.
SCEE mentioned quite a while ago that there will be a MGS4 bundle for Europe, and SCEJ bundles practically every big PS3 game. As for sales? I won't give a figure, but I guess PS3 will be number one in US for that month.
It won't move a single unit
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Well it should give a pretty significant boost. One other thing to take into consideration is Japan/EU currently only has the 40 GB, so assuming it is true that they will get the same 80 GB with b/c, that could also help sales. Granted I guess your average consumer probably wouldn't even know.
If, like the US and JP the EU get this 80GB bundle on the launch of MGS4 (which i doubt we will) i'm sure that the console sales would rocket as i'm sure there are loads of people waiting on getting a PS3 with BC once the great games start flowing. When 60GB models are available here (only in shipments of about 60 per store) they are gone in a matter of hours...
It would be really smart of Sony to release this bundle here and show some love to the EU for a change :D

It will boost sales, but not even close to Brawl levels. Being the 4th game in a series is both a blessing and a curse- a blessing in that it has an excellent reputation, and will probably get many of the people who bought 3 to buy it again, and a curse in that it is a sequel that won't bring it to the masses that did not play the other MGS games. MGS as a series has also sold less with each successive title, and the PS3 is far less popular than the PS2. I expect its end total to end up around that of 3. Bottom line, it is a great series, but not a console pusher. If the PS3 is really pushed by anything, it will be FFXIII in Japan and GT5 elsewhere.
