Forums - Gaming - Hacker Group Vow to Destroy Sony

Sony has scheduled maintenance until Tuesday which was announced a week or so ago. These fools are just trying to take credit for something they had no part in.

Anybody that logged in last 10 days can continue to do most things. I think the PSN Store is the only thing down for everyone until maintenance is completed.

Exactly.

Changing the world one poster at a time on VGC forums. Keep up the good work.

we should all be trying to change the world because maybe then atrocities would happen a lot less but the first step is that we become more educated about what we are talking about wouldn't you agree?

Yeap, and then at some point you'll mature and be less pretentious and understand when/where you can actually make a difference and put up or shut up, so to speak. Trust me, doing real things to make a difference is more rewarding than reading Zinn and Chomsky and trying to be clever and "deep" on videogame forums.

no..maintenance is tomorrow. and it doesn't last until tuesday (or maybe that depends on timezones)
this was indeed an attack. a useless one

It doesn't look like it's directed only at Sony.

"Several gaming servers have been at the receiving end of DDoS attacks over the past several hours. Blizzard's Battle.net servers, Riot's League of Legends, Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile, and PlayStation Network are among those under attack by a group of hackers calling themselves Lizard Squad."

This is gonna be fun. Can't wait for a certain group of fanboys to spin this as Sony's fault.

Any DDoS or hack down is the fault of the company to which the hackdown or DDoS attack hit.

Any company that does not take security 100% serious does not deserve to store my credit card or private information.  Period.  Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo must all be vigilant and make sure this does not happen.

I work in IS/IT as a senior management resource.  If my company got DDoS or hacked down I would be fired in a heartbeat.  In the real world there is no tolerance for this BS.  The companies need to be paranoid about security.  It is that simple.  Credit card information and privacy information is too important to just have "ok" security.

DDoS attacks are well document and easy to prevent.

I suppose everyone at Riot, Sony, Grinding Gear Games and Activision needs to be let go then, because you said so.

No, it's the fault of the people who do it.
