What do you mean? Mario Kart is the most realistic racer I've seen (the red shells are so lifelike) and the sales are always great!

I am sure GT5 will have tons of customization options. There is no way after 3+ years of development they would forget that portion of the game though who knows maybe they are too busy just working on polygons.

Considering customization has never really been a part of the GT series, I'm not expecting it for GT5.  Most I expect is the ability change the car's base color.  Nothing as fancy as the livery editor in Forza 2.

Sorry thought you meant performance wise like equipment etc. Again I am sure it will have better then just changing the color but could be wrong.  Just seems silly to have so much time making a game and not have a decent editor (doesn't have to be forza2).  Of course it won't matter for me at least as it seems just like another racing game.

I think people buy less cos there not improving enought and there is just far to many that are so simular, this is why games like Mario Kart still sell well its pretty unique. They need some kinda new racing game where your in chariots and can upgrade with scythed wheels and the like or a good new road rash to really get things going again. Maybe a 3D space racer flying on a fully 3D circuit having to control every direction not just left and right counld be fun.

last lap wth ... i first want too see a new formula one racer

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

bet with *no one yet* that the combined first week of Monster Hunter 3 in america and europe will be 600k or more! winner changes looser sig and avatar for two months!

If Racing is dying, it's because developers are too stupid to come up with anything new to add to it.

What makes YOUR racing game worthwhile?

GT has realism.
Mario Kart has multiplayer fun, characters, and funky items/weapons.
F-Zero has breakneck speed on insane futuristic courses with tons of cars.
...etc

Developers shouldn't make a stock racing game and expect it to sell. Each game has to stand out as offering something that the other games don't and if the developers lack the ability to make such a game then they should make different games.

thats not true... look at motorstorm, burnout paradise ond MK they all have something original in them to keep em fresh

For me, most of the racers out there just seem to be more of the same. Yes, I realize there's differences, but not distinct enough to justify buying more than 1 racing game.
I'd get Burnout, or GT4 or Dirt but not all three, just whichever one most suited my fancy (Burnout).

Now Mariokart, that's totally different, although it's a racing game it's more about power-ups than performance.

I say they should bring back Carmageddon...
