Back on the PSone I had a game simply called 'Music' (which makes it really hard to find or explain to people what it was). It had a sequel called Music 2000 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Music-2000-Creation-PS/dp/B00004SQO9).

I spent hours making some really good music with it, even with the limited options.

Are there any games like this around for PC? it was quite easy to make music on, just picking segments of tunes and mixing them together. 

I have looked around for games like this (was just looking at Music Maker 2014 on Steam) but hesitant to buy one as dont want to end up buying something that is more focused towards recording artists to mix there own made music.

Can anyone recommend a game like this Music games from PSone on PC?

Hmmm.. i think thats gonna be a hard search.. you would be better of looking at Digital Audio Workstation software... Garageband for Mac Os X is pretty easy to get into.. with lot of samples to play with and super cheap.. for PC if you are starting out Mixcraft is ok.. and affordable.. FL Studio is just way too expensive for hobby use
