I'll try embedding the vid but it sometimes doesn't work for me. Anyways, Jim is back at it again with some good points.

Rise Of The Exclusivity Wars

"The Rise of the Tomb Raider news confirmed one thing - this war over exclusivity is going to make the game industry an everso slightly worse thing. Yes, something else to do that, now."

Pretty good video, though idk what White Light is or whatever game he was talking about at the end.

Why are people acting like this has never happened before? This has happened almost every generation.

Good old Jim.

There's also a great vid from totalbiscuit.

Which is also what he said in this video.

I agree with the video, especially with his point about competition in the gaming industry. Many people like to often point out that competition is good for the customers, which I would generally agree with but if this is the way that competition manifests in gaming, then I don't see how this is good for us.

When companies from the get go fund games and thus help create things that would've other wise not been made, be that from first or third party, then I'm absolutely fine with those games being exclusive, but this game was going to be made anyway and MS just paid for it not to come on other platforms and that just doesn't sit right with me. The same applies to exclusive content and possibly even the new Silent Hill, though we don't know where that'll end up yet.

Completely agree especially about getting involved in exclusive deals on games you were going to get anyway. Paying money to have them taken off other platforms is stupid.

Its actually an insult to their own fanbase. The PS4 is going to end up with the game anyway, but the money xbox fans spent on xbox is going in keeping a game off another platform rather than going towards the development for another game they could have had on top of tomb raider... which could have actually been a proper exclusive.

I hope everyone defending this isn't upset if Sony starts leveraging their much bigger install base to delay games on X1 and secure timed exclusives. After all, everyone does it, amirite?

I agree 100% on this.
