This usually happens to he most popular gaming console. Just like how the Wii was called a gimmick and PS2 called popular only for having a DVD player.
From what I've seen so far I don't think the PS4 is getting that much hate, especially compared to the XBO and to a lesser extent the Wii U. But maybe by the end of the gen that will change when people will look for excuses to undermine the PS4's success.
It's always, ALWAYS cool to shit on the success of the opposite console, whether its Sony's, Nintendo's, or Microsoft's.
That being said, fanboys have always done this and will always do this. It's the nature of console wars.

Rightfully so at the company that stills Nintendo ideas and get credit for it.
