1. They announced the FFXIII saga in 06 with FFXIII, FF Agito XIII (Now Type-0) and FFvXIII (Now FFXV). So of course when they announced XIII-3 we already knew about FFvXIII although we hadnt seen it in awhile and FFXIV is the MMO which dosent actually interfere with the main games all that much... and was technically already released.
2. Firstly they didnt announce FFvXIII too early, they just didnt expect to run into development issues with the hardware. Secondly they admitted to announcing KH3 early back in 2013 and apoligised saying not expect to see more of it for awhile.
3. Yes XIII-3 was a mistake but they wanted to wrap up the story (and have a game to fill the gap until XV). XIII-2 however is perfectly acceptable though. XIII is the 4th best selling game in the franchise with over 7m sales, why wouldnt you make a sequel. And you cant say it killed the FF franchise until we see how well XV sells.
4. As for TR I believe about a million people have explained this already but while I too hate the decision myself here is why its not a terrible idea. TR is releasing alongside UC4 in holiday 2015, so it was going to be crushed on PS4 anyway. Now when it launches on PS4 it dosent have to compete with UC4 as much. It will also sell quite well on XBO as MS will push its advertising quite hard to try and compete with UC4 in the holidays. Not only will the TR fans buy it but so will any Xbox fanboys who buy games to support the company, and maybe those fanboys end up TR fans who will buy future sequels. The last plus side is the obvious one, $$$. Tomb Raider wouldnt have come cheap. Side note, if MS are doing the advertising for it in 2015 then SQEX can still advertise its PS4 and PC release so it wont just release and people wont notice it.
