To play devil's advocate here, is beating a four year old rig really proof of a system being "powerful" relative to PCs?

In 4 years you can still play new games on the PS4, while my PC apparently isn't a "gaming PC" anymore, although I payed twice as much for it

Have you upgraded it since 2010?

Why would an upgrade be necessary to validate his point? His point was his 4 year old gaming PC which cost 2X as much as a PS4 isn't more powerful than a PS4. I'd wager most PCs people use to game on aren't more powerful than a PS4. Epecially if they were £350.

Prtty much everyone knows a mid or top end PC is more powerful than a console, but you'd expect it to be given the price differential.

Are they saying anything about the wii u version or are they just acting like it doesn't exist since the delay?

I think his point is more about timing. I upgraded to a 7870HD in December 2012 (almost 2 years ago) and so far every multiplat still runs better on my PC than on PS4. In 2010 (4 years ago) I had a $99 5670HD (which was weak even then), I dont think the PS4 beats the high end GPUs of the time (5870/5850) by a huge margin. Heck the 5870 is still competent in tiles like battlefield 4 at 1080p  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUSstUvgreU). As developers get better with consoles those benefits also translate over to PC via drivers and new versions of DirectX/Mantle etc.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

heh, you are just making the PC look even more like a money grave - is the next reply "what, you didn't upgrade for over 2 years ? your pc gamer status is being revoked with immediate effect" ;)

seriously, adding new components now is a waste, I'll build a new pc (a yea, I build my PC myself and in the 20 years I have been into gaming I mainly played on PC) once Star Citizen is out, or even better a year after that when components to run it beautifully are much cheaper and most of the game breaking bugs ironed out

If you want a gaming PC to stay up to speed, regular upgrades are kind of necessary. A four year old PC's not really useful as a current benchmark, except as a milestone of what PCs of the time were capable of. Personally, I prefer the affordability and convenience of a console, but if we're talking power...

I am getting it either for WiiU or X1! Maybe both! Looks awesome! One reason for WiiU is motion controls!

Is this the PS4's first 60fps racer?

Unless you count Trials Evolution ;)

It's really the second  racer (with cars) after EA NFS Rivals (cross gen / multiplat  / badly optimized) arcade racer.

It's the first "sim" racer on PS4.

Xbox One development team made a big mistake by selecting entry level GPU for Xbox One.

This

I am not joking.

Even microsoft admitted this.

Microsoft's Engineers On Xbox One: "We Purposefully Did Not Target The Highest End Graphics."

"We targeted it more as a broad entertainment player."

Yes, because casual gamers don't like better graphics?
