Hey guys, 

the question is simple: Have fans of any game affected your opinion on those games and if so, which one?

The best example I think of is Final Fantasy 7, many people don't like this game because of how 'overhyped' or 'overrated' it is and people have said the game attracted the 'wrong' type of crowd. A crowd that overexposed the game and hailed it as the second coming. (Btw, I actually really like Final Fantasy 7).

I understand one would argue that you shouldn't like/hate a game because of it's fans and I agree. But can somebody truly make a subjective opinion without some sort of outside influence?

Well, a segment of the Final Fantasy fanbase influenced me in the sense that I spent a time on which I hated on Final Fantasy XIII.

Then I bought it and loved every second of it. But I'd say I would have done it sooner if it wasn't because of I was told.

I can understand this, i have the same problem with sony lol.

While it doesnt make me dislike their games in any way, I do find myself sounding overly critical towards sony at times as I get a little sick of the internet circle jerk around them from the less objective fans. I can definately see Nintendo fans who do this as well, which is grating because it makes us all look bad, but I guess I just see them less often.

Yes it has influence. Playing World of Tanks on 360 durring the Beta and using the forum was a not a pleasant one.

The forum was mostly experianced players talking about how terriable the game is for them playing with lemmings, noobs, and bad teams.

To play the game you have to have xbox live gold membership and you'll be able to play it using your Xbox profile and downloading the game. The game is free to play.

Playing the game, notice sometimes alot of swearing, very offensive thing stuff that I'ld rather not say are said over the mic. durring matches. People that are so dead set about having to win every single match that if your on the loosing side or perhaps too good of a player that they open up your player profile and will give you a bad rating on your Xbox player profile.

Serious, if you play this game it happens alot. Check your "Rep" (reputation) as it's supposed to show how well you play with others in all games.

yes, the way some fanbases behaves or what they believe makes it very easy for manufacturers / editors to exploit them

Persona fans made me buy P4G for Vita even though I hate turn-based games and now I love it.
