Oh, it is! Then I can't understand why he discredited it at all. I also wonder what's wrong with Borderlands the pre-sequel, besides the fact It's multiplat. Saying that there are no games and that there are no games that appeal to you are two different things. Now the OP says there are no games, and he bluntly ignores the fact that It's at the start of a new generation so it will be slower than normal. Also from that list a user posted we can see that there is a ton of games both released and upcoming for 2014, which he discredits by saying that It's all DLC (whith the only DLC on the list being First light, which is a standalone DLC getting a retail release) and shovelware.

@op how many games forces you to always be online versus how many games don't?

like i said earlier, i crossed out things i shouldnt have, and left things uncrossed that shouldnt have been. i was very hasty, but iw as making a point that MOST of the games on that list (a great majority really) were either parts of games that were taken out only to be sold later or shovelware. and a lot of remasters if you havent noticed (although MCC is a remaster i certainly cant fault.)

there should still be more games for the ps4 and x1 than we currently have. i mean, come on, developers have had dev kits for how long now? the fact that its a new generation really shouldnt make this year this much more barren. the equivalent to this year in last gen was 2007. look at all the great games that came out that year. 2007 absolutely crushes 2014, and you know what? the new generation certainly didnt slow that down at all:

metroid, uncharted, mario galaxy, bioshock, assassins creed (back when it was a fresh idea), paper mario, mass effect, mario party 8, call of duty 4 (again, back when it was revolutionary), heavenly sword and those are just on the top of my head.

also, i never said they force you to be online.  no games force you to be online.. well, besides all the ones on the list that you have to download, which is more than half of them. besides that, none of the retail releases do.

Are you all 12?  Can people in this thread stop with the "whining" narrative?  He has an unpopular opinion, he's using the term shovelware out of context.  Correct him and respect him as a human being.

Goddamn.

Respecting someone and saying they are whining are not mutually exclusive.  Based on the attitude presented regarding the "lack of games" I call it whining.

How very big of you.  The narrative of whining is comparing one to a child and a belittling one.  It's borderline flaming - you would have said "bitching" if you could get away with it.

Couldn't "whining" be considered anything?  Any complaiant anyone has about anything?  Couldn't your telling him to stop whining be considered whining?

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

ok guys, really, i used the term shovelware for a lot of games that arent shovelware.. but STILL, my point is that the MAJORITY of that list still is shovelware. im sorry, but it is. and AC + COD arent huge releases. its just par for the course at this point. theyre nothing that set this year apart from the rest.

Actually wouldn't have said bitching because I don't typically phrase things that way.

And yes I suppose whining could be considered anything.  Like your whining about my comment about whining.  See how that all works?

I think the same as OP, when it comes to no games releasing on home consoles yet that appeal to me.  I also agree with forced online being bullshit.

And you have the audacity to say such utter nonsense. You people live in a dreamland. Gaming is better and cheaper than ever. Oh boohoo, I have to sign into the internet boohoo.

Sigh.  Just because some things are better doesn't mean everything is.  Belittling complaints with things that are wrong is what you're supposed to do, right?  Stop being elitest for a bit and look at things for what they are.

How many games have forced online exactly? Comeon.

I'm not being elitist. I know that for a fact, because if I were to be elitist you would damn sure know it. What I am doing is tackling his points with as much aplomb as I can muster. Why? It's damn obvious if you read my posts.

" Just because some things are better doesn't mean everything is."

I am well aware of this truth. But it seems to me that you've missed the entire point of this thread. He's complaining about a lack of games is the main thing I say is utter BS. He was the one to spin the argument in a different direction - not me. He's just whining about everything.

Shovelware!? You've got to be kidding me!

No way can games like FIFA, NHL, Madden, Shadow of Mordor, NBA, Borderlands, Civ, AC, COD and others be called 'shovelware'!!!

Of course you could call those shovelware!

Oh wait...

shovelware

What a clever one you are.  You now prove my point every time you speak.

Congratulations, glad to see you are feeling vindicated.

Yeah, this thread is definitely very fishy! All of OP's recent threads have been fishy actually!

The plot thickens!

Kinda looks like a thick, oily fish soup to me.
