Forums - Gaming - Which gaming system do you regret buying?

Wii. I got it at launch because I thought the motion controls would be an awesome way to play games. I ended up not being too into the motion controls that much and the games didn't really fit my tastes. Traded the Wii in for a PS3 about 7 months after buying it.

for me, it was the Xbox 360. I bought it, just kept breaking. They fixed the first one for free but then, 2 days after it's warranty. It broke, they charged me to fix it, new warranty. and then, it broke just days after. I never bothered with it again and sold my games.

I enjoyed all of my consoles, but I wish I had bought a PS3 instead of a 360 last gen. I bought the system because Tales of Vesperia was on it, and then all of the other good JRPG's came to PS3 exclusively. Late into the cycle the PS3 had more of the "special" games I wanted to play so I felt kind of left out owning a 360.

An upside is that I did get to play the superior version of Bayonetta, so I got that going for me, which is good.

At current, wii u, at least buying it so early in its lifecycle. I've been disappointed with every game I've played for it save w101, the harddrive is a joke, remote play is useless in my house (though honestly I doubt I would use it much regardless) and worse of all my daughters don't care about it at all. At this point I'm just waiting for zelda and a future metroid to justify its existence but I won't go holding my breath just yet.

Pains me to say it, but of all the consoles i have owned over the last 30 years...... only the Wii has been way below par for me. (one or two were not exceptional, but none of them disappointed me as much)

The only console I've ever sold was the PSP (GC doesn't count because I sold it when i got my Wii and that became my GC), so i guess the PSP. Just wasn't many games I care about. I marginally regret buying a Vita too, but it's had some solid games, and it acts as my PSP and PS1 emulator too. No intention on selling it.....for now.

Never regretted buying a system. I put a lot of thought into the systems I buy.

I guess it would be the Wii, the only reason I bought was on hype alone and also because at the time I couldn't really afford a PS3 until the Slim came out. (Should've save my money)

Best : Nes, Snes, Genesis, TG16, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox OG, all Nintendo handhelds.
Worst : Jaguar, SMS, Saturn, 360 (twice!), XB1, PS4 (for now at least).

This is not a judgment on the quality of the systems, but rather my personal value from them. I don't currently own a PS4, but have destiny bundle preordered. No games for it yet excite me, and I've tried all the major ones. Play on PC and ps3 mostly. Hated the X1 in every possible way, probably the worst disappointment I've ever had with a console. PS4 I know I will love once the games come out. Drive club may be the first gen8 game that grabs me. I went from meh on Halo (1-3) to hating it (Reach, Odst, 4), Sunset overdrive looks terrible, Titanfall was meh, Forza 5 killed a beloved franchise for me, and nothing else coming looks good on that to me. All that said, I'd buy an X1 tomorrow for a good mechassault lol.

Everybody is different.

PSP, DS & Wii.

Last gen I bought into portables for the first time, but ended up not using them much myself because of not having time / need to play on the go.  I used my DS more, but once iPhone appeared it was over for playing with portables.

The Wii had games I liked like Mario Galaxy & Zelda, but overall it was a dust collector.
