If you're in a multiple faction, you KNOW you're in a multiple faction. You don't have to be told and you never are.

Fine. So, it's a numbers thing.

@TruckOSaurus If you truly believe RCT isn't that kind of player then I'll take your word for it. In your experience what do you think most likely happened? Lets assume RCT was telling the truth, what was it? Was it a second mafia faction?

Better yet, let's assume RCT is not telling the truth. There are too many options to consider if he's truthful.

Let's start at the bottom and work our way up.

So, if RCT is not telling the truth, then..?

...umm, how do you know there's no day talk?

If you read carefully, my message doesn't imply I know about it, just that the proposed gambit would be quite bold, even more so without day talk. My angle here is that it would take a really balsy player to attempt what Nickels was describing and I don't believe RCT to be that kind of player.

Right now, Nickels's insistence on creating a scenario where RCT is scum looks reaaaaally bad to me. RCT was almost lynched on Day One, that could make Mafia think he is a good candidate for a mislynch toDay. The way Nickels is pushing any theory that makes RCT scum right now gives me the impression that's exactly what's happening.

Make a mental note of this post everyone, for later.

Looks that way apart from the fact that I can't see a Mafia faction wasting their kill on someone who they have good reason to think he's not even going to die from it.

The theory that makes more sense to my mind would be a vigilante. Not knowing if RCT was telling the truth or not he could have shot him to get answers. If RCT was lying scum, it's a win, if RCT was telling the truth then he'd survive, confirming his story.

Is there any kind of role that benefits from dying? I mean yesterday he seemed eager to sacrifice himself. I don't know why a townie would want to do that and why they wouldn't fight for their freedom or life. Perhaps that is just what kind of guy he is? Maybe he did have a vest and he knew it would protect him from being lynched, do they work like that? But why share that info? and why share he lost it? Perhaps he is a townie and he did lie and he simply did it to make a target of himself? I mean after all TheProf was targeted, most likely because he did the most detectvie work yesterday. We also know Padib used his one shot and is an easy target now. Perhaps he said it to try and make a bigger target of himself? Is that a possibility?

How do vigilantes work? Or how did they work in past games, in your experiance? What if he was scum with a bullet proof vest? Do you think that could be a possibility? Or is it unlikely?

I agree. However, confirming his story doesn't confirm that he's town.

Vigilantes are town-aligned, they can kill at night, they usually have limited shots.

As for a Mafia with a bulletproof vest, I would say it's very unlikely in a game with one faction but possible (though not common) in a game with two factions.

Just clarifying a couple things for you...factually.

1. Yes, there are some roles that do. One is called jester...he wins if he's lynched. However, it's also a common scum tactic to pretend. We'll have to wait for confirmation by a role.
2. Vests don't protect against lynches
3. Let's see, he was close to being lynched, claimed that role thinking that he was already dead (unlikely), and then suddenly was not in danger of being lynched. Whether A triggered B is not certain, but what is certain is that he very likely could've been lynched had he kept his mouth shut. Motive is unknown.
4. Why share that he lost it is a good question.
5. Padib is not an "easy target" now. Scum will want to keep him around because padib is easily misguided and very stubborn.
6. Claiming to have bulletproof doesn't make you a bigger target.

RCT is a very good candidate for a lynch today.
