| Lingyis said: here we go again. i repeat--it's a damn fine game. i have had a LOT of fun playing it. what, i can't say that i liked it? clearly, 4 million other people agreed with me. some people just can't accept that a game that isn't to their liking sold 4 million copies. i don't play games like gears of war or MGS, but they seem to sell well and i understand and respect people's preferences. |
I agree. I got to play the game over the weekend and it's enjoyable. Not for everyone, but I can understand how it would sell so well.
And people, don't say that it only sells because it has Mario and Sonic on it. If they came out with Master Chief at the Olympics, you wouldn't buy it would you?
It's success will encourage more and more minigame titles from respectable publishers, which will account to less work on other genres. A win for the new Wii crowd and a loss for everyone else.
You just keep telling yourself that...

Funny that some still think these kind of games and their success are Wii exclusive and that this success will influence the lineup.
These kind of games exist since more than 20 years on every system (I think it started with Track & Field in 1984 - a huge success) and they will still be developed for all future systems. None of these olympic mini games collections has ever influenced a console's whole lineup.

My friend has it. He says it's one of his favourite games because it's so much fun.
If the success of fun games is wrong, fuck right.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Well then you need to remember that it's not the old demographic that are buying these games, it's a new demographic. That's called expanding the market, meaning there's going to be enough room to go around for both traditional games mainstream games.
@stof: Fuck yeah. I guess games shouldn't be fun anymore?
Why do people continuously shit bricks over this game? People like it and it sold, get over it.
