One Punch Man remains stellar. What would the world do without Saitama there to bail them out?

Anyone here have watched Tamako Market? Because im up to ep 6 and i am LOVING IT!!!!! I just love this "Family" vibe from it. Like how all the people in the street just interacts so well to each other. And that fucking BIRD!!!! think he is my fave animal or pet in an anime that i have watched. I also love the romance there!!!!!!! And ofcourse our cute TAMAKO!!!!!!! After this anime i think i will start looking at these types of animes. Never really got an interest of watching them before.

If you like Tamako then you HAVE to watch the Movie. I think it's overall better than the series because it finally deals with the romance. Also check out any other KyoAni work. Hibike Euphonium, K-On, Kyoukai no Kanata, Hyouka, Chuunibyou are all in the same style.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I've compiled my preliminary AOTY Top 10s before Fall.

New Animes:

Junketsu no Maria
Gakkou Gurashi
Hibike Euphonium
Death Parade
Wakaba Girl
Sore ga Seiyuu
Shirayuki
Shokugeki no Souma
Mikagura Gakuen
Rolling Girls

Sequels:

Gatchaman
Non Non Biyori
Milky Holmes
Working
Symphogear
Nisekoi
Danna ga
Fate Kaleid
Miss Monochrome
Tokyo Ghoul

Those are probably gonna change significantly after Fall. So much potential in the current season.

I'm surprised to see Tokyo Ghoul in there. The second season was seriously underwhelming in so many ways. It was obvious to someone like me who hasn't read the source material that they went completely off the rails doing their own thing. It was a massive disappointment. Hell, even season one wasn't great. It was eleven episodes of build up with a super rushed climax in the last episode that wasn't nearly as satisfying as I hoped it would be.

Overall, Tokyo Ghoul is really more of a 7.2/10 or so, while individually, season one is more of a 7.8, while season two is more of a 6.5.

Otherwise my AOTY is probably going to remain Shokugeki no Souma. God damn did that one grab me by surprise, and I adored it. One Punch Man is glorious in its own way, but knowing it's only twelve episodes at the moment makes me feel like it will be held back from true greatness. Honorable mentions go to Death Parade, Nanatsu no Taizai, and Gakkou Gurashi for really bringing it in their own ways to make for some stellar stories and presentation.

Ah yes! I was already planning to watch the movie after the TV series. Like how i saw the difference in the ranking on Myanimelist. And thanks for the suggestions. K-on has been at the back of my mind for ages now. I'll probably check it out sometime this month.

I'm not a big fan of Tokyo Ghoul. It will be the first thing that's being dropped from the ranking. It's only there because it's technically a good anime, if only for the creative visuals alone.

I love Nanatsu no Taizai as well but that's a 2014 anime so it's not on the list.

Didn't you watch Junketsu no Maria? It's definitely my anime of the year and the only one that got my coveted 10/10 rating of the more than 100 animes I've watched this year. It's the most mature anime I've ever seen. They tackle sexuality, politics, religion and actual realistic society and warfare of the middle ages in such an honest way without being cheesy. It's a blast to watch.

I half count Nanatsu no Taizai since it was a two cour that bled into 2015. On an unrelated note, I can't wait for it to come back in 2016.

It took me a moment to realize what Junketsu no Maria was, since I was mostly on the Funimation site during the season it aired and it was under the title "Maria the Virgin Witch". I was actually meaning to watch it but never got around to it. Once I finish off Accel World, I'll give it a go and see exactly why you like it so much.

Yeah...I'm kinda of the same mind. The show blows me away every week...but I hate knowing it's gonna be over soon. It really deserves a much longer season. I guess it can't be helped...since the manga is only at around 60 chapters so far, and the Deep Sea King fight takes place around 35-40. I still reserve the right to grumble though.

This thread reminds me I still need to watch Shokugeki. This is probably a good time, since my schedule is getting lighter and I'm losing interest in most of my weekly anime.

7DS was great, and I'm glad it got renewed....even though I suppose it was only a matter of time with how huge the manga is. It was a little rushed towards the end, and skipped/changed some of the source material, but overall I thought it was well done.

That being said, I do hope the 2nd season stays a little more faithful. The manga has been absolutely fantastic lately, and if the anime adapts it properly (and gets that far), I can see it being a lot of peoples' AOTY 2016. Though I suppose it's a bit early to be predicting that...heheh.

Hackadoll is so fucking underrated.

Owari no Seraph is having a much better second season. It is still needlessly dramatic in a lot of ways and needs a lot more explaining for some rather important plot points, but overall, it is actually enjoyable, whereas the first season was a slog waiting for something good to happen.
