Asterisk carried the day thanks to the Princess's back-story, which was interesting. Also, Claudia. Calvary, on the other hand, did nothing for me with the throwaway villains and the main character getting more upset over a girl having to take her clothes off than a woman about to be shot in the head. Anime honor is always so goofy. Also, I've seen the "dive into bullets" thing approximately thirteen thousand times.

I liked this episode more than the previous one. Shipping's a big deal for me, so I wasn't a big fan of how rushed Stella's feelings were last time. Seems like she already wants that D, while only a few eps ago she wanted him to seppuku. I blame that more on my own expectations coming into it though; I definitely like the pairing dynamic more this time around. Still hoping my pair gets some good development, and not just non-stop ecchi.

#asteriskmasterrace stays strong.

I prefer where I see Asterisk going next week, honestly. I like the character relationship between the MC and the princess more than in Calvary, as their relationship progression feels more natural. Both shows are clearly going to have combat next week as well, and it will be the first time we may really get to see the MC kick some ass in Asterisk.

I like both okay, but Calvary is moving a little bit weird right now. I don't really know how much I like it at this point with the overly wincest relationship, the princess going from hate to love in about two minutes in the first episode, and the unexciting nature of the MC's ability. Okay, he can power up super strong for one minute, and then is exhausted. Neat. How long until they add another dimension to his abilities?

Asterisk War is in the lead for me ...

It's a shame how Calvary is easily falling into more tropes as time goes on ...

Ah, Golden Time. It was like a game of Battleship start to finish. All that was left at the end was that piddly two peg raft, playing by sink all to win rules, but damn it, that little raft survived.
