I have always hated that concept "no game is perfect". No one who gives a 10 says the game is perfect. They says its a "masterpiece" not the same. Basically a 10 means as good as it gets. 

well 10/10 is a perfect score which means the game is perfect.  its jsut one reason why i think the number system to review games needs to be changed but thats just my opinion

Technically, the thread is about reviews for the ps4 version of the last of us, not the ps3 version which is what we were talking about.  Though based off of context, you do have somewhat of a point, as I didn't elaborate very well.  The point I was trying to make is that without hard data, such as listing every review out for the ps3 and then marking the ones that said that game got boring at times, and which ones didn't, your argument pretty much falls flat on its face.  He didn't even mention what kind of reviews, whether they were users or profesisonal critics or whatnot.

did you every get a 100 on a paper or something while in school? Did you really think your work was "perfect". 10/10 is a perfect score, key word SCORE, unless less someone used a 100 point scale it would be really hard to differentiate between between games (thus the reason I think a 10 point system is horrible, 20 point systems are fine IMO)

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

..though who cares what they say. i didn't need their opinion to know this is the best console game since the PS2 era.

IGN used to have those scores but i think it's just simple numbers now. Or 0.5s dunno

Anyway it doesn't necessarily mean 9.9, a 9.5 = 10 too.

Its huge because rarely do reviewers not lower scores in retrospect. MGS4, GTA and all of those franchises that recieved unworthy tens got a lot of retrospectives from reviewers in the past leaving them to wonder whether they should tighten up on their expectations.
